Sports trust Wycombe Leisure (WLL) has appointed a health programme co-ordinator to help develop its exercise referral scheme, Active For Health, which is being created in partnership with Oxford Primary Care Trust.
Tricia Cowie will be taking up post from the 1 May 2007.
The scheme will enable GPs to refer patients to one of WLL’s leisure centres, where they will be offered a free health check consultation with a clinical exercise specialist who will advise them on a programme of activity depending on their requirements.
WLL currently manages 10 sites on behalf of Chiltern District Council, West Oxfordshire District Council and Wycombe District Council.
