Wycombe church to house new arts centre
A new arts centre is set to open at a High Wycombe church and adjacent hall after a local community group secured the leases to the buildings.
Wycombe Community Arts Centre (WCAC) has already moved into St John's Church and Hall after signing a lease agreement with Wycombe District Council (WDC). The Arts4Every1 Centre for the Arts, Creativity and Enterprise is set to open in phases over the coming months to offer a number of performances, workshops and exhibitions.
WDC acquired the properties earlier this year after the church buildings shut in 2009 following a reorganisation of the parish of High Wycombe. WCAC - also known as Arts4Every1 - chair Mike Watson said: "With the lease now in place we can start to have some fun, working together to build a centre for the creative and artistic endeavours of the people and communities of the district."
