Wynn Las Vegas opens
The newest addition to the Las Vegas strip, the $2.7bn (2.1bn euros, £1.4bn) Wynn Las Vegas, has opened to guests.
The casino hotel boasts 2,359 standard guest rooms, 270 salon suites and 45 executive suites as well as 42 private villas on the grounds of the resort's 18-hole championship golf course.
Facilities include 111,000sq ft (10,300sq m) of gaming space with 137 tables, 1,960 slot machines and three separate gaming salons.
There are also 18 restaurants and bars, 76,000sq ft (7,000sq m) of retail space and 223,000sq ft (20,700sq m) of convention and meeting space.
Wynn Las Vegas took five years to build and is the fourth resort development for Steve Wynn, the chief executive of Wynn Resorts.
His previous projects included the Mirage, Treasure Island and Bellaggio hotels – which he sold to MGM for US$6.4bn (£3.3m, 4.9m euros) in 2000.
