Wyre Forest leisure centre plans move forward
Wyre Forest District Council's (WFDC) plans to build a new multi-million pound leisure centre have taken a step forward after members of the cabinet backed the scheme.
The cabinet decided a £10.1m new-build facility was the "most affordable and sustainable option", with facilities to include a six-lane, 25m swimming pool and an 80-station gym.
WFDC budget proposals for 2012-13 onwards have now been amended to include capital funding for the project, with full council to consider the changes on 29 February.
