YMCAfit to launch e-learning programme
Fitness industry training company YMCAfit is to offer its students a new way of learning about exercise and its impact upon the human body.
The company is launching a new e-learning programme enabling students on Level 2 and Level 3 fitness courses to study the Exercise and Fitness Knowledge component whenever and wherever suits them. Students are provided with an e-learning package which has been developed to support different learning styles. It comes with the full support of, and easy access to, a YMCAfit qualified tutor. Other features include interactive quizzes, self-learning checks and online forums.
Robin Gargave, YMCAfit's executive director, said: "While online learning is not new, our e-learning package is significant in having been designed to meet the needs of the student and qualified fitness instructor using a process that inspires, stimulates and facilitates learning and achievement. "YMCAfit, with our project partners Interactive8 and Synetrix, have put much time and effort into the product's development so that it offers the same high quality level of teaching as our tutors offer _face-to-face, in the classroom - a method which is still available to all our students if they prefer that option."
YMCAfit's full e-learning package launches in January 2009.
