YTB reveals finalists for customer service award
Yorkshire Tourist Board (YTB) has completed the line up of finalists for the White Rose Awards for Tourism 2006 and revealed the five finalists in line for the Outstanding Customer Service Award.
The finalists include: Paul Alexander, Clarence Gardens Hotel, Scarborough; Customer Service Team, Gateway Yorkshire – Leeds TIC, Leeds; Events Team, Royal Armouries (International), Leeds; Dave Morris, Swinton Park, Masham, and Tower House Executive Guest House, Pontefract.
David Andrews, YTB CEO, said: “Customer service is the cornerstone of the tourism industry – it’s the added ‘X’ factor that makes or breaks a visit. Each of these finalists has shown an extraordinary degree of care and attention to clients and a real commitment to customer care. This is one of the areas where any business can excel. It doesn’t cost any more to provide excellent customer service, but it is priceless to customers.“
The awards, now in their 17th year, recognise and reward excellence in tourism – Yorkshire and the Humber’s largest and fastest growing industry.
The winners in this and the 14 other categories will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Magna Science Adventure Centre on 19 September. They will then automatically qualify for entry to the national Enjoy England Excellence Awards, which will be held in Spring 2007. Details: www.ytb.org.uk
