Yeovil play area set to reopen
South Somerset District Council (SSDC) has announced that the new-look Yew Tree Park play area in Yeovil will open on 22 May following a £165,000 revamp.
Both SSDC and Yeovil Town Council provided £80,000 towards the project, which has benefited from the installation of new play equipment such as four cradle swings and climbing frames. A 12m (39.4ft) slide has been built into the park's embankment, while teepees and a timber stage have been installed to provide a space for role-play.
SSDC youth and play facilities officer Stephen Barnes said: "Yew Tree Park is an extremely well-used facility and we are sure that the new, challenging play equipment will come as a welcome addition for local families."
