Yon-Ka spa debuts at Vanderbilt Hall
A luxury spa has been unveiled at the Vanderbilt Hall Mansion Hotel and Private Members Club in Newport, Rhode Island, US.
The intimate spa features indoor and outdoor swimming pools and three treatment rooms including a duet room featuring built-in cabinetry, furnishings and a fireplace.
Covering 3,160sq ft (293.5sq m), the spa was designed by Newport Collaborative, a local group responsible for many other the historic renovations in the Newport area.
Overseen by spa director Allison Schumann, who previously worked with owner Peter de Savary at the US-based Carnegie Abbey Club and Cherokee Plantation properties, spa décor - including silk runners and gilded mirrors - was supplied by Universal Companies.
All face and body treatments use the French Yon-Ka brand while the natural nail care Spa Rituals line is also offered. Services include the anti-aging Advanced Optimiser Facial and the Close Your Eyes calming pedicure.
The spa also features a sauna, a range of steamrooms and a gym with individual flatscreen televisions, fans and iPod docking stations. Details: www.vanderbilthall.com
