Youth sports body for the US
A new National Youth Sports Health & Safety Institute has been launched in the US.
The new organisation will be the recognised national leader and advocate for developing, advancing and disseminating comprehensive research, education, recommendations, guidelines and policy to enhance the experience, development, health and safety of children and adolescents involved in sporting activities.
The institute is the brainchild of Dr. Michael Bergeron, associate professor and director of the Environmental Physiology Laboratory at the Medical College of Georgia.
Among partners of YSHSI are Sanford Health – a non-profit, integrated health care delivery system – and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
