Yuletide 2003 at Bayou Bend Collection
A fashionable 18th century ball supper that might have featured “promiscuous seating”, a 19th century ball honouring General Andrew Jackson and a 17th century autumn harvest feast are recreated in three of the rooms decorated for Yuletide 2003 at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, the American decorative arts centre of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
Each year, eight first-floor rooms at the attraction are decorated to represent American holiday traditions.
As part of the Yuletide 2003 programming, a series of special events are planned including several Candelight Open House evenings, audio tours and a free family day.
Bayou Bend is the former residence of philanthropist and collector, Ima Hogg. It has a collection of over 5,000 works.
