Zoo licence for East Leake animal centre
Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has announced that Manor Farm Animal Centre at East Leake, Nottinghamshire, has become the area's first licensed zoo.
The attraction boasts a collection of farm livestock; a macaw parrot; a tortoise; llamas; guinea pigs; rabbits; and donkeys, as well as a number of rescued owls. RBC said its licensing service had been able to issue the animal centre with a zoo licence after a year of research, DEFRA inspections and other hurdles.
