Plans underway in Moscow for Europe's largest observation wheel
A giant observation wheel is coming to moscow, Russia, with the mammoth structure set to overtake the london eye in terms of size and stature, becoming the largest in Europe.
The giant wheel visitor attraction is engineered and manufactured by Intamin, the company that created the same landmark for Orlando, Florida.
A Russian news service reported that the investment company, Regiony, is aiming to make the wheel one of Moscow’s top attractions hosting up to 1.5 million visitors a year. The firm said the wheel will measure 140 metres (459ft), five metres taller than the London Eye.
The wheel was designed by Chapman Taylor architecture firm, which has an office in Moscow.
The London Eye, one of the UK’s most popular paid attractions, attracts about 3.75 million people per year and is thought to have welcomed 60 million people since it opened in 2000.
