Museum of Communication in Bern to unveil £8m refurb
The Museum of Communication located in bern, switzerland, is in the midst of CHF10m (US$9.9m, £8.2m, €9.3m) renovation, the most extensive in the attraction’s recent history.
The work centres on the updating of three exhibitions to create one new, modernised comprehensive space. The new permanent collection is due to open on 19 August and will increase capacity and attract a younger generation of visitor.
In the new 2,000sqm (21,527sq ft) space, visitors to the Museum of Communication will be able to explore a range of brand new content, including interactives, games, large-scale video projections and artefacts that tell the story of communications history and the digital era.
Dutch firm Kossmann.dejong is handling the scenography, while compatriot firm Bruns is building the exhibition. There’ll be new graphic and animation content and an updated AV infrastructure.
