£12.3m Derbyshire leisure centre plans to go on display
Designs for a £12.3m leisure centre in Matlock, Derbyshire have been put on public display.
The designs for the project, to be built by Derbyshire Dales District Council, will be put on display at the Town Hall in Matlock on 22 and 23 January in order to gather public opinion.
The plans include a main sports hall, a secondary sports hall, a fitness suite and an eight-lane, 25m swimming pool. The design team was led by project managers Drivers Jonas.
After the public consultation, a planning application will be submitted in the spring.
Andrew Lewer, chair of the council’s Community and Environment Committee, said: “The programme currently aims to see a start date on site in late summer. We hope to open doors in summer 2011 and every effort is being made by everyone involved to make that happen for the enjoyment of all.”
