£125m casino complex to open in Birmingham
Resort Worlds Birmingham leisure complex is set to open at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham by January 2015.
It will comprise a Genting casino as well as a 176-room hotel and spa. Other facilities include a cinema and extensive conference facilities as well as a factory outlet centre.
Casino operator Genting UK are beginning work on the £125m leisure complex after appointing contractor Galliford Try.
This development will be Genting's first Resorts World complex in the UK and Europe but will join a number of Resorts World complexes across the world.
Peter Brooks, president and chief operating officer of Genting UK, said: "This is a significant and complex development and therefore we required a construction partner with the capacity and experience to manage such a large scale project.
"We now look forward to working with Galliford Try on constructing an exciting leisure and entertainment complex at the NEC site in Birmingham."
