£1.34m Jordanstown tourism scheme unveiled
Northern Ireland tourism minister Arlene Foster has unveiled a new £1.34m tourism project at Loughshore Park, Jordanstown - the start and finish of the Causeway Coastal Route.
The scheme - funded with the help of £670,000 from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board - has included an expansion of a caravan park and the provision of new visitor facilities. Foster said: "While the Giant's Causeway is recognised as Northern Ireland's most iconic tourist attractions, it is important to spread the benefits to the towns and attractions along the coast.
"This project is a unique opportunity to mark the beginning and end of the Causeway Coastal Route, and it also establishes a key stop-off point for visitors wishing to stay in the area." Newtownabbey Borough Council also invested £670,000 in the scheme.
