£13m Xcel Leisure Complex to open
The £13m Xcel Leisure Complex in Elmbridge, Surrey, is set to open on 14 August.
The facility will be managed by DC Leisure and feature a 120-station fitness suite, a climbing wall, a 25m swimming pool, a 20m learner pool with moveable floor and an eight-court sports hall.
The project was the result of a Public Private Partnership between DC Leisure and the Elmbridge Borough Council Leisure and Cultural Services Division. The construction was carried out by Hertfordshire-based Willmott Dixon.
Peter Kirkham, development director at DC Leisure, said: “The people of Elmbridge have a superb new facility and we’re looking forward to continuing our work with the council to ensure that users are afforded the very best in leisure services provision for many years to come.”
The complex will be opened by the Mayor of Elmbridge, Victor Eldridge, who will be accompanied by some players from Chelsea FC. Details: www.dcleisure.co.uk
