£1m parks investment for London borough
New play areas are to be created at 11 parks and open spaces across the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (LBHF) at a cost of more than £1m.
The local authority has earmarked the funding to provide natural and adventure play equipment for local young people, who will be asked what they want to see as part of a consultation exercise.
New equipment has already been installed at 10 parks during the past year, with the next 11 sites set to feature grassy mounds, fallen trees and sand areas to boost creative play opportunities. LBHF cabinet member for residents' services Greg Smith said: "Fun and exciting opportunities to play are at the heart of a happy, healthy and enjoyable childhood.
"We know that children and their parents are delighted with the improvements that we have already made across the borough are looking forward to starting on the next phase of the scheme."
