£2.9m upgrade for Maidstone Leisure Centre
Maidstone Borough Council has appointed a contractor for the £2.9m upgrade of its Maidstone Leisure Centre.
ISG has won the contract to complete the project, which involves building a new mezzanine floor to allow for a new 500sq m fitness suite with new changing facilities.
The existing fitness suite will be transformed into two new dance studios and a number of treatment rooms, the lagoon pool will have its filtration system upgraded and the changing village will be refurbished. A new front entrance will also be built.
Work on the centre – which is operated by The Maidstone Leisure Trust and its managing agent Serco – will begin later this month and is expected to be completed by spring next year.
