£330m Forestmill scheme moves forward
Clackmannanshire Council has announced that a Section 75 agreement has been secured in order to progress the £330m Forestmill scheme.
The agreement is designed to meet a series of conditions set out as part of the new village development, which was given the green light last November. Fife-based developer The Muir Group is leading the scheme, which will incorporate a 100-bedroom hotel, a championship-standard golf course and a housing development.
Community and leisure facilities - such as a bowling green, tennis courts and a leisure centre – are also proposed, along with the restoration of Meadowhill open cast mine. Council sustainability portfolio holder Eddie Carrick said: "Forestmill is the largest ever development to receive planning permission in the Council's history and will bring a huge boost to Clackmannanshire, with millions of pounds of private sector investment and hundreds of jobs created."
The scheme is expected to take up to 15 years to complete.
