£400k renovation for Cardiff leisure centre
Plans for a £400,000 refurbishment of Cardiff's Fairwater Leisure Centre have received the green light from members of the local authority, with work scheduled to begin on 20 April.
The project will see the existing lounge bar and activity area transformed into a large fitness suite with around 50 Life Fitness stations and a dance studio, while the café will also be upgraded.
Cardiff Council said the project will provide the centre with facilities comparable to those on offer at Western Leisure Centre. The work is due to be completed by September.
A spokesperson said: "Fairwater Leisure Centre is nearly 30 years old and the proposals have been well received by the local community who value the council's investment."
