£4.5m Sports development for Erewash

Erewash Borough Council's scheme to transform Rutland Recreation Ground in Ilkeston into a flagship sports development has got underway.

The £4.5m development will include a 3-court indoor tennis centre and single outdoor court with spectator seating, a floodlit six-lane athletics track and artificial surface for football and hockey, a new athletics pavilion with showers, changing facilities, club room and bar. A new golf pavilion, a refurbished cricket pavilion and refurbished outdoor tennis courts are also planned.
