Leisure and tourism developers Deighton International has announced plans for a £4.5m healthy living centre in Bolsover, Derbyshire.
A consortium of more than 40 local organisations has planned the Bolsover Beacon, which will include a 25-metre swimming pool, gym and dance studio. The centre will also feature a clinic with consultation rooms offering health and wellbeing courses including a parenting course and a teenage one-stop centre.
Deighton International is seeking funding from Sport England and the New Opportunities Fund, and hope to complete the centre by autumn 2002.
The Bolsover Beacon will be owned and operated by a charitable trust, which is currently being formed.
