£500,000 plan for Midlothian ski centre
Plans have been lodged with Midlothian Council for £500,000 worth of improvements at the Midlothian Snowsports Centre at Hillend, near Edinburgh.
Funding secured from sportscotland will be used to finance the work, which will incorporate the construction of an additional 210m slop on the hill and a 80m of new nursery slope.
Other improvements are to include the extension and upgrade of existing nursery slopes and the installation of new snowtuber runs, along with new travellator uplift systems.
Midlothian Council leader Derek Milligan said: "Back in March we announced that national backing had been successfully secured for Midlothian Snowsports Centre at Hillend.
"The plans which have now been submitted have been developed in close partnership with sportscotland and we look forward to continuing that close partnership as this exciting project progresses."
