£5m youth facility opens in Knowsley
Knowsley Council has announced the opening of a new £5m youth venue in Huyton, which has been developed by local young people and was funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
Aimed at teenagers, the new facility was built by Balfour Beatty and features a media suite; a café; a BMX ramp and skatepark; an outdoor multi-use games area; and a chill-out area.
Music, arts and sports space and advice and wellbeing services are also on offer at the venue, which is located on Longview Drive and also boasts an extensive events programme.
Knowsley mayor Christina O'Hare said: "It's great to see such a range of activities on offer for our young people here in Knowsley.
"They have been integral in shaping the design, décor and activities on offer and it's pleasing to see they can now enjoy all their hard work."
