£6m leisure centre opens in Bristol’s Longwell Green
A new leisure centre has opened at Longwell Green in Bristol.
The £6m facility, which took two years to build, is owned by South Gloucestershire Council and operated by South Gloucestershire Leisure Trust.
Facilities consist of a 25m swimming pool, learner pool and gym equipped with more than 60 pieces of equipment including Technogym’s Kinesis range and wellness key system. The building itself utilises oak cladding and has an environmental low-carbon footprint.
Mark Crutchley, chief executive of South Gloucestershire Leisure Trust, said: “We were delighted to open this excellent new facility in partnership with South Gloucestershire Council.
“Our team have performed exceptionally well to deal with the consistently high levels of demand we have experienced. The local community have a fantastic new leisure experience on their doorstep and they are making full use of it!”
