David Lloyd's Mega Jump has been sold to Trampoline park Jump In for an undisclosed sum.

The 30,000sq ft Borehamwood park was set up by the former tennis player and businessman Mitchell Tillman in 2015. At the time it was reported that 20 Mega Jump locations were planned before 2020.

The purchase is Jump In's second Acquisition in the past few months, after Jump Nation in Birmingham in March. Jump In now owns and operate seven parks, with sites also in Enfield, Slough, Tonbridge, Walsall, Warwick and Aberdeen.

As part of the deal 70 Mega Jump staff members will transfer to Jump In.

Vernon West, Jump In chair, said: “We are delighted to add this site to our growing portfolio and look forward to working with the team to make it a success.”

Gareth Monger, Mega Jump general manager, said: “The management team at Borehamwood have been hugely impressed with the vision of Jump In and look forward to be part of this exciting expansion journey with them.”

In June, Lloyd spoke to Health Club Management about his latest venture - adventure parks.

After coming across an indoor activity centre in Florida called Planet Air, Lloyd realised that the way forward was an all-inclusive offering, rather than a specialised one.

He said: “I thought, trampolines are great, but it’s going to change. My health clubs started as just tennis and that was the mistake I made. But now they have everything. We called them a sporting city under one roof. So this [adventure park] is an activity city under one roof.”

Lloyd and Tillman were both unavailable for comment about the sale of Mega Jump.
