Deputy General Manager

Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Hours of work: Any 5 out of 7 days, 40 hours per week
Salary: £35,000 + excellent benefits


About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Aspro Parks as Deputy General Manager at Oakwood Theme Park. The focus of the role is to assist the General Manager in the overall management of the business. To drive the commercial performance of the park and oversee all aspects of the operation.

The park is open from Easter to October with some closed days during this period. During the winter you would oversee winter works as well as developing and planning the future park operation and new attractions.


Responsibilities

• To take the lead role and be responsible for the day-by-day operations of the park to ensure its smooth running, ensure guests receive outstanding customer service, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and to address problems as they arise.

• To ensure that health and safety regulations and procedures are adhered to, understood, and practiced and that the team are fully trained in their duties ensuring correct use of PPE.

• To provide support and guidance to all Oakwood departmental managers and employees, and promote a culture which reflects the organization’s values and encourages good performance, and rewards productivity. You will strive to make every employee feel valued and respected.

• To ensure training for departmental staff members is always delivered to the highest standards, and that accurate records and completion of paperwork is carried out in line with company procedure

• To develop and manage budgets.

This is a full-time post which involves working 5 days a week and often includes working weekends and bank holidays on a rostered basis. During the winter months when the park is closed you would usually work Monday-Friday.


About You

• Demonstrate strong people management and have at least 3 years previous management experience.

• You will have excellent communication skills, excel in all areas of customer service, enjoy challenging situations and able to create a positive and innovative working atmosphere.

• Promote a diverse and inclusive working environment.

• You will be dedicated and resourceful.

• Ability to take ownership and show initiative and drive results.

• Ability to stay calm under pressure and exercise sound judgement.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle different priorities across multiple areas.

• Great IT skills are also essential in this role including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

• Visitor attraction experience would be advantageous but not essential.
