£280,000 changing room revamp at Hillsborough Leisure Centre
Sheffield International Venues is investing £280,000 in refurbishing the changing rooms at Hillsborough Leisure Centre.
The revamp is expected to take 12 weeks and will include new lockers, enhanced access control and an electronic band system for pool entry.
The work is part of a wider programme of investment at the leisure centre – named Centre of the Year at the Fitness Industry Association’s (FIA) FLAME Awards in 2005 – which has already seen £1.8m spent on improving health, leisure, crèche and car parking facilities.
Richard Apps, general manager at Hillsborough Leisure Centre, said: "Our aim is to constantly improve our customers' experience at Hillsborough Leisure Centre and the new changing rooms project is the latest stage of this process.
"The development will bring the changing area right up to the high standards set in other parts of the building and it is further evidence of our continued commitment to providing customers with a first-class facility.
"It is also a great step forward in our quest to be crowned as Centre of the Year at the FLAME Awards for the second year running." Details: www.hillsboroughlc.co.uk
