AGAP announces new board
Associação de Empresas de Ginásios e Academias de Portugal (AGAP), the Portuguese fitness association, has announced the composition of its new national board.
Jose Julio Vale Castro has been named as the new president, succeeding the outgoing Jose Luis Costa in the role.
Armando Moreira has been named as vice president while Antonio Fiuza Fraga is the new president of the general assembly.
The appointments were made public during the association's annual general meeting on 6 January, during which AGAP's future goals were also revealed.
Four main principles were identified for the trade body to pursue throughout 2012 - lobbying the government on tax matters; harmonising national legislation with EU laws; compliance with anti-doping programmes; and promoting physical activity and fitness as a form of preventative healthcare.
