AMResorts to open second Dreams resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic
US travel firm Apple Leisure Group (ALG) is growing its Caribbean portfolio. ALG’s subsidiary, AMResorts will manage the newly-built Dreams Dominicus La Romana resort when it opens in October 2015.
Upon the resort’s opening, AM Resorts will have eight properties in the Dominican Republic under five of its brands.
The family-friendly five-star Dreams property will have 478 rooms and suites and will be located in Bayahibe – ten minutes from La Romana city and half an hour from the island of Saona, a government-protected nature reserve.
There will be a signature Dreams Spa by Pevonia at the property, in addition to a bowling alley, tennis courts, a pier and a 13,750sq ft (1,277sq m) infinity pool.
“The addition of a new [second] resort in La Romana is a direct response to demand from travellers for premium, all-inclusive options in the Dominican Republic,” said Javier Coll, executive VP and chief strategy officer of ALG. “The destination continues to be a priority for ALG as we expand our presence in existing markets while seeking new areas for growth.”
