The Aberdeen Convention Bureau (ACB) has launched a range of extended break packages aimed at encouraging business people visiting Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to stay on and explore the surrounding area and Scotland.

A brochure and DVD are being distributed to conference organisers, venues and local ambassadors and the ACB website has been developed to ensure that information about the extended breaks can be easily accessed.

Aberdeen-based motorcycle touring company, Scotlandbybike.com, is one of a number of tour operators, hotels and activity providers working alongside the ACB to promote local leisure activities and encourage visitors to sign up for extended breaks.

Stewart Buchanan of Scotlandbybike.com said: “Touring Scotland by motorbike is becoming an increasingly popular activity and we already offer a wide range of packages to both the domestic and international markets.

“We are delighted to be involved with this scheme and are confident that people attending conferences and business meetings in the area will look forward to staying in Aberdeen for a few days longer to enjoy the wonderful sights and sounds of Scotland. There really is no better way to relax after a hard week of meetings than to change your shirt and tie for motorbike gear and head off with your family or colleagues to see the country from a totally different perspective.”

VisitScotland’s Marketing for Growth fund has awarded £30,000 to the scheme. Details: www.aberdeenextendedbreaks.com or www.scotlandbybike.com
