Active England boost for Manchester skatepark
A new concrete skatepark and Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) worth £315,000 has opened in Partington, Manchester.
The project has been funded with the help of a £280,000 grant from Sport England, through the Active England fund, and £30,000 from the Partington & Carrington Single Regeneration Budget.
The park is part of wider development on the site, which includes a new healthy living centre, which will provide a base for healthy living and activity coordinators in the community.
The skatepark, MUGA and trim trail is adjacent to improved facilities for the bowling club, new accomodation for the boxing club and, with South Manchester Girls Football League and other boys football teams playing in the park, a vibrant hub of sporting activity has been created.
