Active Stirling launches employability programme
Sports trust Active Stirling has launched a new Health & Wellbeing employability programme in conjunction with The Job Centre Plus and Raploch URC.
The scheme is the first of its kind in Stirling to provide unemployed people with the opportunity to gain entry level qualifications in the industry.
Matthew Bunnell, Active Stirling Health & Fitness Development Manager, said: "The course has been set up to increase employment opportunities for Stirling residents within the leisure sector whilst at the same time increasing the participants' physical activity levels leading to a healthy sustainable lifestyle.
"The course has only just been advertised but it is fully supported and financed by our partners at Job Centre Plus. Health & Fitness is the fastest growing, biggest income generating area within the leisure industry. The participants who graduate will be significantly more employable in the industry both within voluntary and employment settings."
The training includes gym instruction, exercise to music, health and fitness, first aid qualification, SVQ level 1 Certification, personal development and advanced jobsearch.
