Amusement companies in rides alliance
Cantilevered Coaster Systems has linked with Setpoint to market the Cantilevered Roller Coaster (CRC) system through a small to medium-size ride package.
The initial system - costing between US$4-6m (£2.5m-3.7m) - will have a capacity of 1000 guests/hour, using either two- or four-seat cars. Of the two track layouts being considered, one is a semi-flat, constant-drive configuration, with a lift-hill at one or more points allowing for higher speed coasting and lending itself to themed environment, dark-ride/coaster style attractions.
The other is a 'wild mouse'-style configuration, with a single lift hill for higher speeds and a tighter track layout. The companies feel that in using the CRC system, a unique coaster ride can be produced without having to operate at high speeds, lending itself for use in family oriented rides while still maintaining an 'edge'.
