Aquaterra is delighted to announce that after rigorous assessment it has retained the highly respected International Standard for Environmental Management ISO 14001 certification, in recognition of the organisation's commitment to good environmental practice.

 Good practice included a high profile drive by Aquaterra to encourage customers to recycle more of their waste and help reduce landfill and the associated environmental impact.

 Aquaterra was first awarded ISO 14001 certification in January 2013 and is now audited every six months by the renowned British Standards Institution (BSI) to maintain certification status.

 ISO14001 - the world's leading environmental management standard - demonstrates that Aquaterra has put environmental management at the heart of operations to achieve sustainable success by reducing waste, energy use and environmental impact upon the communities in which we operate.

 Antony Kildare, Chief Executive of Aquaterra said: "This is a very well-deserved achievement and we're proud to see our continued hard work and commitment to environmental excellence and efficiency within the leisure centres and our local communities recognised by the BSI."

 The ISO 14001 standard is only one of a clutch of industry and quality awards achieved by Aquaterra during the last year, including the prestigious Investors in People at gold standard award. In addition, all Aquaterra leisure centres have now been awarded Quest accreditation, Customer Service Excellence award, IS09001 Quality Management Standard, and leisure centres in Bath and North East Somerset have also been granted the Amateur Swimming Association's Swim 21 status.
