Atkins to develop new residential and tourism area in Vietnam
Engineering and design company Atkins has drawn up plans for a new mixed-use resort project in Vietnam, which will include both residential and hotel properties.
Situated in the east of of the country, in Vung Ro, the plans for development include a marina, hotel resort and luxury villas. Three areas have been identified for construction: The Marina for direct ocean views, the Village occupying the valley plain and the Bai Mon with a sandy beach resort and lighthouse dating back to 1890.
Concepts and designs for the infrastructure and the utilities have been formulated to support the design approach while reducing impact on the existing landscape, avoiding contamination of the natural watercourses and mitigating any flood risk.
Atkins is now working on concept designs, with construction work due to begin in 2014. At this stage there are no estimate costs.
