Award for Thanet Leisureforce lifesavers
The Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) has awarded five citations to three Thanet Leisureforce lifeguards and two RLSS Assessors for a rescue which took place at Ramsgate Swimming Pool in July.
A male swimmer suffered a cardiac arrest, while the lifeguards were undergoing National Beach Lifeguard assessment training.
The award recipients were Thanet Leisureforce head lifeguard Neil Morgan, Leisureforce’s water safety supervisor Chris Betts, lifeguard Gary Pugh and assessors Kathy Batts and Kirk Lee.
Batts, who is also president of the Kent branch of the RLSS, said “I was very impressed by the professionalism and application of good practice which clearly demonstrated the commitment of Leisureforce lifeguards in this training and application of the knowledge in a real life saving situation.”
