BISL to tackle Olympic legacies and gaming at annual conference
Business in Sport and Leisure (BISL) has announced that its annual conference and exhibition will take place on 30 November, with key topics including the legacies of the 2012 Olympic Games and the future of gambling in the UK.
The conference will also look at whether the law on licensing is now clear, a year after its introduction, and the impact of televised sport on business, leisure time and support for sport.
A discussion on the forthcoming decision regarding where the UK’s first regional casino will be situated is planned, with representatives from four of the local authorities bidding for the right to host it.
Further speakers will include DCMS minister Shaun Woodward; chief executive of Gala Goral Group, Neil Goulden; chair of Center Parcs, Martin Robinson and director of sport for BBC Television, Roger Mosely.
Around 350 delegates are expected to attend the conference, which will take place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. Details: +44 (0)20 8255 3782
