BTA boosts publicity with new press centre
The British Tourist Authority's (BTA) new online press centre www.visitbritain.com/presscentre has been launched at the British Travel Trade Fair in a bid to provide a more comprehensive service for the tourist industry.
The press centre features around 100 high-definition, print-quality and copyright free images of the UK, which can be downloaded by the media for no charge from the new image library.
The new 'Region of the Month' feature provides information about a particular area, as well as highlighting a hotel, restaurant, 'hidden attraction,' family, cultural and sporting event in the region.
'This is an outstanding new site and we will keep it up to date with the very latest information - invaluable at a time when BTA and the industry are unveiling new strategies to encourage a recovery for Britain's tourism in 2002,' said Jo Leslie, BTA's head of press and PR.
Other information includes the latest news from BTA, an archive of past media releases and copyright-free articles background on BTA's responsibilities and structure, a full calendar of events around the UK and access to the latest issues of Britain Calling - BTA's new bulletin for overseas journalists, who can register to receive it regularly by email.
