Beatles Story to double in size
The owners of the Beatles Story visitor attraction in Liverpool are to embark on an expansion programme which will see the floor space of the site double in size.
The planned works on the attraction include new rooms celebrating the solo careers of George Harrison and Ringo Starr; an educational interactive learning centre aimed at children; an audio guided tour; a new temporary exhibition area; and a café and relaxation area.
Jeery Goldman, director of Beatles Story, expects the new extension to open by the time Liverpool becomes European capital of culture early next year.
Martin King, director of Tourism at The Mersey Partnership said: “Developments such as this enhance the quality of the city's welcome and the overall experience of visiting Liverpool.
Developments such as this are to be applauded as they also improve the city's reputation as a premier international visitor destination”
The Beatles Story is located on Liverpool’s historic Albert Dock. The attraction opened in 1990 and has welcomed 2 million visitors from all around the world.
