Brits will pile on more than 300,000,000lbs this Christmas – see a live count here
Brits will turn mince pies into muffin tops as they pile on millions of pounds during the Christmas and New Year festivities.
Digital marketing agency Venn has put up a website called Jinglebellies to track our growing wobbly bits using NHS data.
The final fat count is expected to be around 316,000,000 lbs gained.
At the time of writing, we were still tucking it away, with a massive 38,000,000lbs already on the clock.
The jinglebellies.com website is correlating the collective gain to the weight of things like the Tyne Bridges and Trident submarines and then calculating the number of miles we'll need to run to burn off the blubber.
The running target is in turn correlated with planetary distance - the count is currently at Pluto and heading out into deep space.
The health and fitness industry has its work cut out in the New Year as people battle with their new year workout resolutions.
Make sure all those treadmills have been serviced.
