Cannons and Courtneys get on their bikes for charity
Members of Cannons and Courtneys gyms are taking part in cycle marathons across the country in a bid to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
For the second year running, Cannons Health and Fitness will be ‘going the extra mile’ to support its charity partner’s largest ever fundraising campaign, The Help a Heart Week (4–12 June).
All 63 of the chain’s sites will hold simultaneous 10 hour exercise cycle marathons with the aim of covering a total of 6,000 miles to promote awareness of the issues surrounding heart disease and raise funds for pioneering heart research.
Cannons will also pledge £1 for every new membership taken up during Help a Heart Week.
This year the BHF’s fundraising week is promoting the issue of women and heart disease and raising funds.
Since March 2004, Cannons has raised £60,000 for the BHF through a combination of local fundraising events, support of annual campaigns and sponsored participation in the London marathon.
