Castleford stadium plans 'on track'
Castleford Tigers Rugby League Football Club (CTRLFC) has insisted that its plans to relocate to a new stadium in time for the start of the 2011 Super League season remain unchanged.
The club has moved to reassure its fans that the construction of a new stadium at Glasshoughton will not be affected by Wakefield Wildcats Rugby League Football Club's plans for a new 12,000-capacity stadium, which were announced last week. CTRLFC chief executive, Richard Wright, said: "Understandably our fans have been prompted to ask questions about our stadium plans following the announcement made by Wakefield last week. And while we are happy to note their progress, this has no impact upon our own scheme for a new stadium.
"We fully appreciate that we haven’t been able to say as much as we would like to have done about progress, but fans can rest assured that there is a lot of activity taking place behind the scenes with different parties, which for a number of reasons we cannot release at present. However we are hopeful that might change quite soon."
