Colourful fitness campaign for kids
British Gymnastics has teamed up with face-paint company Snazaroo to promote its new children’s health and fitness campaign.
The organisation has created the FUNdamental Movement Ideas for Early Years programme to promote an enjoyable approach to physical activity and introduce the basic skills which provide the foundation for all sports to children, from toddlers to six years old.
The campaign utilises cartoon characters; Funky Cat and his friends Springy, Stretchy, Steady, Speedy, Sporty and Swingy.
The programme includes work cards, activity signposts, wall charts, badges and certificates, records of achievement, home starter packs and fun kit bags.
Snazaroo has also produced a range of feline face-painting kits to complement the characters.
“The main aim of the scheme is to demonstrate to children that movement and activity are fun and enjoyable,” said Liz Liebman of British Gymnastics.
“We believe this will encourage children’s interest in all types of sport and will lead to healthier, active children and fitter adults.
”All the activities can be practised under the guidance of parents, leaders, teachers or coaches at home or in organised groups.” Details: +44 (0)845 1297129 or www.earlyyearsfundamentals.co.uk
