Compass acquires RHG hotels
Compass Hotels Management Services, a subsidiary of Compass Hotels, has taken over the running of four former Real Hotel Group (RHG) properties after the operator went into administration in January.
The subsidiary of Compass Hotels will operate the businesses, as requested by the owners, on new six-month management contracts which will see all four hotels renamed. The businesses include two Quality Hotels in Loughborough and Walsall (renamed Compass Hotels) and two former Stop Inns, which will now be called The Southcrest Hotel Redditch, in Worcestershire, and the Scotch Corner Hotel near Richmond. Julian Tee, chief executive of Compass Hotels, said: “Our main priority is to quickly stabilise the operations, re-establish links to key third party intermediaries to increase sales and manage the hotels to the high standards that have helped us grow our other hotels over the past 25 years.
“We’re very conscious of the uncertainty that the teams will have faced over recent weeks and we hope to be able to allay any fears concerning job security. Trading conditions are tough for hoteliers at the moment but we’re certain that business levels will pick up in time and confidence will be restored in the market.” Compass' current portfolio comprises three properties, all marketed through Best Western Hotels; The Abbey Hotel in Bath; Manor House Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent; and Stansted Manor Hotel near Stansted Airport.
