Council reveals plans for two Walsall leisure centres
Plans have been revealed for the rebuilding of two leisure centres in Walsall for a combined cost of £15m after the council published a contract notice.
The Bloxwich Leisure Centre will be built at a cost of £6m and will include a health and beauty spa, 25m, six lane swimming pool, learner pool, four court sports hall, dance studio, two glass-backed squash courts, café and a seating area.
The facility at Oak Park will cost £9m and will include spa facilities, a 25m, eight lane pool, learner pool, six-court sports hall, fitness suite, dance studio, squash courts and changing facilities.
The development of the two facilities will see both current buildings being demolished before new facilities are built nearby with the Oak Park playing field area being reinstated.
