Council seeks views on Eastbourne future
Eastbourne Borough Council (EBC) is set to launch a new consultation to enable local residents to comment on how the East Sussex town will develop over the coming years.
A proposed Area Action Plan (AAP) drawn up by the council will aims to provide a blueprint that will shape the future regeneration of the town for the next 16 years. The document incorporates a number of proposals for Eastbourne, including ways to develop the local evening economy and attempts to broaden the appeal of the town centre to "new audiences".
EBC leader David Tutt said: "Plans to dramatically improve the town centre remain a key priority for the council, and we have not abandoned our ambition to deliver real change to the Arndale Centre and the town's retail, leisure and tourism offer. "However, making sure these goals best meet public need is crucial and we hope as many people as possible take part in the consultation process."
The consultation is due to run between 14 June and 6 September.
