The 456-room Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Puxi hotel has opened as the brand's largest hotel in China and its third largest worldwide.

Owned by Gain Year Development Real Estate Shanghai Co., the hotel will be operated under a long-term management agreement with Marriott International. Guestroom amenities include deluxe bedding, 37in LCD panel TVs, iHome docking stations and satellite channels, high speed internet and laptop-sized safes.

Dining options comprise the MoMo Café, offering a menu blending western dishes with local favourites, and a "grab and go" kiosk called MoMo 2 Go, which provides quick beverage and snack selections. An executive lounge on the top floor provides a panoramic view of the city and offers complimentary breakfast, evening drinks and snacks.

Also available are a 24-hour fitness centre and an indoor swimming pool, plus a ballroom and four function rooms offering 5,382sq ft of meeting space between them. The new hotel is the third Courtyard branded property in Shanghai and joins the 318-room Courtyard by Marriott Hotel Shanghai Pudong and the 364-room Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Xujiahui.
