Covent Garden Market Authority to launch new food centre
The redevelopment of The New Covent Gardens Market in south London is gathering pace with the launch of a brand identity for the proposed new facilities.
A new food centre, to be called The Garden at The New Covent Garden Market, will include cafés, restaurants, education facilities, training rooms, a demonstration facility and a business centre for local companies.
The plans are hoped to encourage smaller businesses to set up shop at the 35-year-old market.
The launch of the identity will be part of the process to find and work with a private development partner to refine the concepts over the coming months.
Chief executive of Covent Garden Market Authority Jan Lloyd, said: "This new identity shows the scale of our ambition. We will provide facilities for traders and customers alike."
